Girls Night In Cake

Back in April, I threw a "Girls Night In" pre-bachelorette party for a good friend. The guest of honor is very stylish so I decided to do a fun, champagne and high heels theme.

This cake is a very simple Chocolate Fudge cake layered with chocolate butter cream. White fondant is rolled over the top for the base color and I added a hot pink ribbon and shoe platform to match the fun fringe. Unfortunately, I did not have time to mold the shoe. The black heel on top of the cake is a wooden decor piece.

So they are not really cops!

This was an interesting cake I did back in March '09.....yep....that far behind on my posts. On of my co-workers needed a cake to celebrate her co-workers birthday's. Not sure what promoted this idea, but it was funny and different. I wish I'd asked why one of the guys had a Fu Manchu hat and mustache. Oh well. It was fun to make.

Oh, you can't see this, since it's iced, but I actually baked it as half french vanilla and half triple chocolate fudge. All I did was cut a divider down to size and hold it upright while I poured in the batter. The biggest issue I had was the batters bake to different heights. Nothing a little leveling didn't fix.
